Ducks Unlimited Inc.
Memphis, Tennessee, United StatesEstablished in 1937, Ducks Unlimited, Inc. (DU) has conserved more than 15 million acres thanks to contributions from millions supporters across the continent. A small group of concerned sportsmen launched an effort to study the problem of declining waterfowl populations as a result of long-term drought in North America, and in 1935 they conducted the first International Wild Duck Census. These conservation pioneers underscored that high-quality habitat was essential to healthy waterfowl populations. The study also found that the wetlands of Canada served as the primary breeding grounds for waterfowl and represented some of the most critical habitat for ducks and geese. These conservation pioneers took an unprecedented step in founding Ducks Unlimited, a 501(c)3, non- profit organization dedicated to conserving habitat for waterfowl. In DU’s inaugural year of 1937, 6,720 members raised $90,000 which went into habitat restoration and enhancement projects in Canada. To complete the on-the-ground conservation work, Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) was incorporated in 1938 and, on December 5 of that year, DU staff and Keemen volunteers completed the organization’s first restoration project at the Big Grass Marsh near Gladstone, Manitoba, naming it “Duck Factory Number One.” Guided by science, DU works thoughout the United States. Hindsight explains history, but foresight builds a legacy. DU’s history evolved from the foresight of a small group of sportsmen who launched an unprecedented, international effort to save waterfowl by conserving habitat. DU’s founders and early members stepped forward to make a difference for North America’s waterfowl at a time when our country was in the grip of economic depression and severe drought. That spirit of volunteerism and of rising to meet profound challenges remains a fundamental part of the organization’s culture today. DU’s culture remains the prized secret and key to our continued success. Over 80 years, DU’s mission of waterfowl habitat conservation has resulted in its working across the continent to serve the habitats that make possible the abundance of wildlife. Waterfowl, other migratory birds and hundreds of species of wildlife are not the only beneficiaries of DU’s habitat work. Wetlands also provide vital ecological benefits for people. Wetlands improve the overall health of our environment by recharging and purifying groundwater, moderating floods and reducing soil erosion. Wetlands are North America’s most productive ecosystems, providing critical habitat to more than 900 wildlife species, clean water for our communities, and invaluable recreational opportunities for all people to enjoy, but, just in the last 50 years, our nation has lost more than 17 million acres of wetlands. Last year, in the United States alone, DU impacted more than 435,000 acres of critical breeding, migration and wintering habitat. Each year, the organization’s conservation success stems from the passion, commitment and dedication of Ducks Unlimited supporters, volunteers, partners and professional staff. DU has over 500 employees across the country and an annual operating budget of more than $200 million. Kansas Bowhunters Association
Lebo, Kansas, United StatesBowhunting is the primary interest of the membership and the ultimate aim is the proper harvest of wild game with a bow and arrow in a humane and sportsmanlike manner. The KBA stands for the wise use of our natural resources and the conservation of our wild game and their habitats. With this is mind, the KBA does not hold to the theory that everyone can or should be a bowhunter. Quite the contrary, the KBA stipulates that only persons who are willing to put forth the effort to assure that the sport will be undertaken in a humane, sportsmanlike manner should attempt to harvest game with a bow and arrow. The impetus of the KBA has been directed not to the taking of large numbers of game animals, but rather toward the taking of game in an ethical, humane manner… a manner which enhances the hunter’s character, not his fame. This website is dedicated to sharing the goals and achievements of the KBA with its members, along with providing essential information about hunting in the great State of Kansas. -

No Excuse Hunting and Outdoors
Queen Creek, Arizona, United StatesNo Excuse Hunting and Outdoors “Nothing’s Stopping You.” www.NoExcuseHunting.com Dan@NoExcuseHunting.com 480.650.5878 No Excuse Hunting and Outdoors is a Non-Profit organization that is dedicated to everyone who enjoys all the outdoors has to offer regardless of a physical or visual disability. No Excuse Hunting and Outdoors believes that having a disability is not the same as having an inability to enjoy outdoors activities. We encourage everyone to enjoy the outdoors regardless of what challenges life has put in the way. Success is not measured by harvesting an animal on a hunt or landing a fish, but by going outdoors and doing what many take for granted. Not everyone with a disability is born with it. Many are acquired through life from car accidents, illness, or military service. No Excuse Hunting assists and encourages people with a physical or visual disability to try something new or to not abandon a life’s passion due to a disability. While many organizations focus on helping children or veterans with disabilities, No Excuse Hunting and Outdoors encourages and assists people with physical and visual disabilities regardless of age or military service. -

Wichita, Kansas, United StatesWe are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization empowering youth through outdoors experiences and mentorship. By using outdoor experiences as a platform to mentor young people of diverse backgrounds we are making generational impact through the outdoors and passing along our outdoor heritage. Founded in 2002, we have a goal to serve 100,000 young people in the outdoors by 2033. We are passionate about equipping the next generation with outdoor opportunities through mentorship. We have scaled our program in Kansas, Iowa, and Wisconsin and hope to continue to grow into other states. What makes our program unique from other youth mentoring programs is that we have dedicated Program Coordinators that plan new and continued opportunities for kids who are 11 years of age and older, who have completed Hunter Education. Any youth interested in getting involved in the outdoors can participate with us as many times as they want. All our events are FREE. We find access for hunting, fishing, and shooting sports, line up vetted volunteer mentors to lead these opportunities, and communicate with all parties about the details of the event. We have great resources at our disposal to coordinate these events efficiently for inexperienced youth or for youth who have dabbled in the outdoors. Our coordination of these events provides confidence to first time hunters and parents/guardians which empowers the volunteers to do what they are most passionate about, mentor. -

Safari Club International - Flint Regional Chapter
Davison, Michigan, United StatesSafari Club International is the Leader in protecting the Freedom to Hunt and in promoting Wildlife Conservation Worldwide ! Protecting hunters' rights and promoting wildlife conservation, SCI's two areas of focus, historically has been the interest of hundreds of individuals long before SCI was established. But how did SCI as an organization begin? Forty years ago, there were many safari clubs across the country made up of local, unaffiliated groups of hunters. One such was Safari Club of Los Angeles, which was formed in April 1971 by forty-seven individuals. In early 1972, an out-of-towner from a similar club in Chicago attended one of the monthly Wednesday night meetings, and it was decided that the L.A. club should attempt to combine with the one in Chicago to make it an affiliated chapter. The founder of Safari Club of Los Angeles, C.J. McElroy, went to the Windy City and instituted the new chapter. Eleven months after the formation of Safari Club of Los Angeles, on March 9, 1972, the name was changed officially to Safari Club International. SCI continued to reach out to other independent safari clubs throughout the United States in an effort to combine them into a single overall organization. Today, interest in SCI's two primary missions has grown a worldwide network. Subsequent involvement and promotion of these missions is rooted in each of our 55,000 members, supported through each of our 190 membership chapters found across the globe, and put into action by government representatives and personnel both nationally and internationally. In this way, we can encourage an appreciation for nature and wildlife so that conservation efforts remain strong, while also fighting to protect our rich hunting heritage. Big changes can be achieved through the endeavors of many who are united in a mission – the mission of Safari Club International. -

Safari Club International - Mid-Michigan Chapter
Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, United StatesConservation of wildlife and protection of the hunter. We find no irony in this because we believe that conservation and hunting are not only compatible, but inseparable. We believe that habitat and wildlife must be kept in balance, and we believe that wisely managed hunting is one of the best ways to accomplish this. Professional wildlife managers have shown us over and over again that total protection often is not conservation. There simply are too many examples of what happens when species are allowed to exceed levels that space and food supplies can support. The right to pursue wild game has been handed down to us through the centuries, and we intend to protect this cherished heritage. But when a species is threatened because of habitat loss, political neglect or a natural disaster, Safari Club International steps in with money and effort. SCI members are proud to be helping preserve wildlife species through our hunting fees and our financial and political support for professional wildlife management. We believe a species is best served when local people realize conserving the species provides them immediate and long term economic rewards. -

Safari Club International - Teddy Roosevelt Chapter
Bismarck, North Dakota, United StatesWelcome to the Teddy Roosevelt SCI Chapter of central North Dakota! Where our passion for youth opportunities, veterans appreciation, and overall gun rights dates long before any of us were born, it’s in our DNA. Our mission is to support local youth, veteran, and many other outdoor organizations that support conservation, opportunity, and gun rights so the opportunity to hunt and the wildlife is around for future generations to enjoy. With all the laws and Antihunters out there we feel this very important want to make the Teddy Roosevelt chapter a voice, and advocate in the outdoors for generations to come! We were started by a few key elder individuals, who got together and over a couple months brought 10 more people ranging from college graduates to middle aged dye hard outdoorsmen, and even a few females to our board meetings to cast a wide variety of idea’s and influence to what we feel is a very healthy, broad spoken group. We have already had involvement in some youth activites, and are preparing for a couple upcoming veterans events! Bismarck is host to a large veteran community, and has a youth trap league currently surpassing 300 youth members! Your support of our auction will go directly to those who have served for our freedom, and those who will carry this torch into the next decade! -
